Are you ready to improve your life?
Welcome to therapy that works. We understand that you have many choices when it comes to choosing a therapist and our hope here is to give you a clear understanding of who we are and our philosophy to help you determine if we ares the right therapist for you. Feel free to contact us should you have additional questions or a phone conversation would help to assess the fit between your needs and our services.
We've been hearing for years from clients about how their previous therapist was a good listener, but they didn't feel like they made much progress. While active listening is an important skill for a therapist, listening can only go so far. We believe what sets us apart from many other therapists is the fact we actually help you help yourself make the necessary changes in your life by giving you techniques, tools, skills, and guidance to achieve your goals. You'll almost always walk out of a session with a new technique or two that you can go home and start using immediately. While any given technique doesn't work for everyone and most people need a plethora of techniques, we'll be sure to give you the techniques and tools that we think are most appropriate for you and specially modified for your given circumstance. We also believe that therapy doesn't have to be boring, hard, or last years. We've heard from most of our clients that they actually enjoy coming to therapy because its not like they thought it would be. Its ok to laugh, talk, and generally have a good time in our sessions while working on very difficult and complex situations and issues.

Dr. Alan Behrman is a certified parent coordinator, Parenting Coordination is a non-confidential, child centered process for conflicted divorced and divorcing parents. It is a form of dispute resolution for parents in which mediation would be inappropriate or ineffective due to high levels of conflict. Through education, mediation and case management, the family’s progress is monitored to ensure that parents are fulfilling their obligations to their child while complying with the recommendations of the court. With prior approval of the parties and/or the Court, the PC may have the authority to make limited decisions, within the scope of the court order, to assist high-conflict parents who have demonstrated an inability or unwillingness to make parenting decisions on their own. The role of the parenting coordinator is outlined by the authority granted in the court order or the stipulation of the parties.
Parenting Coordinators assist parents establish and maintain a healthy co-parenting relationship by reducing parental conflict and the risk factors that influence a child’s post-divorce adjustment. The overall emphasis is to offer children the opportunity to grow in a home environment free from the devastating stress of being caught in the middle of parental conflict.
Since parenting coordination is a non-confidential process, parenting coordinators document parental behaviors and compliance with court orders. This is usually done through memos and, if necessary, by testimony to the Court. Parenting coordinators may share their concerns regarding each parents' behaviors and make recommendations regarding unresolved issues.
